The Karaiskakis stadium is located in the Faliro area of the capital city Athens, East Central Greece, on the plain of Attica prefecture, near the Saronic Gulf.The stadium is the home ground of the soccer section of the Olympiakos Sports Club.During the 1896 Oylimpic Games it was used as a velodrome and Paul Masson a Frenchman, won three track cycling gold medals.It as been renovated twice once in the 1960's and again in 2004.In the 2004 renovation it was made into a 33,300 all seater stadium.The stadium is named after Georgios karaiskakis, who was an hero in the Greek Revoution that took place in 1821.
