The Rosenaustadion is the largest stadium of Augsburg. It was opened on 16 September 1951. Until 1972 it possessed a great importance for the German football and the international track and field athletics due to its size and modernity. With the opening of Munich's olympia stadium 1972 shrank this position gradually. The Rosenaustadion is home to 2. Bundesliga club "FC Augsburg". The Rosenaustadion holds place 24 in the list of the largest stadiums of Germany.
