The Olympiastadion will be host for the final of the FIFA 2006 World Cup which will be held on 9th July and will be aired to a worldwide audience. In addition to this it will stage another 5 group games

History
The stadium was built for the 1936 Olympic Games although was built on the site of the stadium that was to be built for the 1916 Olympic Games which was abandoned due to the first world war.
