Description:
Building began on Feb 12th 1934 and the stadium was inaugurated on June 12th 1938.
Since its completion the stadium has undergone sevral important stages of developement.In 1952 the stadium could accomodate 70000 spectators but after going through a total refurbishment in 1990-94 the stadium now seats 40000.
The stadium building is 243 metres long
and up to 159 metres wide.The tower is 72 metres high and the stadium covers 4.9 hetares.
