The Riverside Stadium was built in 1995 as a replacement to Ayresome Park and holds a total of 35,100 spectators. The stadium is home to Middlesborough Football Club. The record attendance was 35,100 during an England Qualifier for the Euro 2004 (Portugal) against Slovakia on 11th June 2003.
The stadium was built along the south bank of the River Tees (known as the Steel River due to Middlesborough's steel Industry) which is how it aptly got its name the 'Riverside Stadium'
