The first sportive event took place at the ground in 2006. Today, the stadium is shared between Doncaster Rovers F.C. and Doncaster R. L. F. C. In 2010, Keepmoat Stadium got a prestigious award for Best Matchday Experience.

The main pitch features a system made of natural grass and synthetic fibers, thanks to which the playing surface is protected against deteriorating.
