The Italo del Cima Stadium is the home of football (soccer) team Campo Grande AC.The stadium is in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro state, South East Brazil, on Guanabara Bay of the Atlantic Ocean.The stadium land was donated by the Italo del Cima family, whom the stadium was named after.The stadium inaugurated on April 29th, 1960, when Campo Grande beat Oriente 2-0.Campo Grande's player Naldo Pires scored the very first goal in the stadium.Italo del Cima has a capacity of 12,000, but the stadiums record attendance stands at 16,842, set on April 21st, 1982, when Campo Grande beat CSA 3-0.The stadium was covered, but a windstorm in 1972, destroyed part of the stadium and now there is only cover for the social seating.
